Tomorrow I’ll be speaking at the Christmas Ladies Tea at Church and I wish you all could be there! My dad loved tea parties (he was actually the most extroverted person in the fam, so I didn’t grow up realizing how they were “supposed” to be women’s territory). All this to say, you’d all be welcome!
But I know many of you won’t be there . . . have no fear, you can still hear me talk :). My friend Britta and I are experimenting with short videos during Advent. This one is about ten minutes and we talk about this week’s topic of active waiting and hope. By next week, we’ll learn how to do a split screen. Room for growth, yes, But that’s life in the messy middle, isn’t it? Sometimes you practice in public. And we’re just giving you the gift of waiting for us to get better. HA.
Still, it’s worth your time as we wait together for the birth of Jesus. If you’re reading this in an email and don’t see the video embedded, you can watch it here.

P.S. in the blog redesign, a few of you might have had your subscription information switched just yesterday and might not know The Messy Middle as a new look. You can read about it.
“Sometimes you practice in public.” This is more true than we would like to admit! Thanks for letting me share Advent with you – I am already enjoying it so much better than last year when I tried to go it alone!
Hahah! I’m glad you’re cool with practicing in public too! It IS much easier with community, isn’t it?
I enjoyed listening to you guys today!
Thanks Mark! We’ll be filming another one tomorrow :)
Practicing in public is great! :) Helps the rest of us not feel so intimidated about trying something new. :) I’m glad you are doing these short videos. It’s like sitting there with you. Blessings!
